Inspiration for Designing Your Own Photo Christmas Cards

Crinkle some colorful tissue or wrapping paper for a background, or lay a bed of evergreen branches. Arrange a few ornaments, pinecones, holly leaves and berries, candles, and/or ribbons on this background. Take some close-up digital photos from varying angles, rearranging your items or altering your lighting for different effects.
- Look to Nature
Maybe you already have a beautiful landscape photo that would make a great photo Christmas card. If not, look around you for those views that are breathtaking or homey. Go to the park; go to the mountains; go to the beach; go stand in your own yard and look with a fresh viewpoint. Will you choose a broad vista or a focused close-up of the wreath on your front door?
- Use Traditional Decorations as Inspiration
Show your home bedecked and lit for the holidays, or just a close-up digital picture of the snowperson you built. Show your fireplace, hung with stockings and waiting for Santa to descend. Display a candle glowing in a single, frosty window. Take a close-up of your favorite nativity crèche or of a charming country church. Hang some ornaments from the palm tree in your yard to celebrate and share your warm climate holidays.
